Man forced to drink water used to wash corpse of his dead friend

A 29-year-old technician, Bode David was as of late compelled to go through a night with the body of his companion, just known as Ganiyu and beverage the water used to wash his body, to demonstrate that he doesn't know anything about his passing.

Bode, an indigene of Ekiti State, relates consequently;

"I knew the late Ganiyu and Wasiu in January, when I was searching for somebody to alter my broken Honda auto. That was when Ganiyu acquainted me with Wasiu to settle my auto. After he settled my auto, I paid him N35,000. From that point forward, we have had no business with the exception of when our ways incidentally crossed and we trade merriments. On Tuesday, Wasiu called me at around 6p.m., colloquialism they require my assistance critically. He said Ganiyu was in the clinic and that they required cash to buy pints of blood and dribbles, which was about N19, 000.

He begged me to come. At around 7pm, with no thought that Ganiyu was dead, I drove my auto to the intersection of their road, called him on telephone that he ought to come and gather N5,000, which was all that I needed to help Ganiyu's treatment around then.

When he came to where I stopped my vehicle, he said the doctor's facility was adjacent, so we strolled towards where he said the healing center is found.

As we strolled, I started to notice some interesting development in the region as terrible young men filled the zone, so I asked where precisely the healing center was. He said we are taking an easy route to the healing center.

In the end, the easy route prompted a compound. Quickly we entered the compound, individuals started to get some information about Ganiyu's demise. I let them know I knew nothing, yet they didn't trust me, and they started to beat me.

When they were beating me, a Baale in the territory grilled me, instructed them to quit beating me and to hand me over to the police, or they may pound the life out of me and after that have two cadavers staring them in the face. Be that as it may, they cannot.

"In the wake of beating me, they constrained me to mull over the floor in the same room where Ganiyu's cadaver was laid to demonstrate that I had nothing to do with his demise. While they were beating me, my telephone and the cash in my stash got missing.

"When they found that I was still alive, they washed his body and constrained me to drink the water. I denied however they very nearly slaughtered me with another round of beating. When it was evident that I had no choice, I drank it.

"After I drank the water, somebody who asserted that he knew me called the police. The police took me to divisional police headquarters at Awoshika, before the case was exchanged to Area F Command.

"I don't have anything to do with Ganiyu's passing. How might I be in charge of his demise when I had no issue with him? All I need is for government and Nigerians to go to my guide, and bring the individuals who allotted this insensitive treatment to me to equity.''

In the mean time, 33-year-old Wasiu Fadairo likewise describes in his own  protection that;

"I am from Kwara State. The late Ganiyu is from the place where I grew up.

"On May 12, Ganiyu was stooling and regurgitating blood, so we hurried him to a healing center situated along Oluwora Road, Isheri in Magodo. He later passed on, calling a specific name— Bode.

"After he passed on, we took him home in light of the fact that none of his prompt relatives or relatives was accessible. When we called them, they said they were advancing, so we kept his body inside his room.

"That same day, neighbors and individuals living around were furious, claiming that the name Bode, which Ganiyu continued calling before he passed on, was in charge of his demise. So they started to call Bode's telephone number.

"At the point when Bode did not come, I called him with my telephone and let him know that Ganiyu was lying basically sick and required blood and dribbles, and that we require his help.

"When he came, individuals started to question him concerning what he thought about Ganiyu's demise. Before he could say a word, they jumped on him and started to beat him. So I rushed to call the police to come and salvage him.

"After police saved him, they later went to where he stopped his auto and vandalized it. I was there when they were beating him, however I was not there when they constrained him to lie next to the cadaver and beverage the water used to wash it."

As per the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, the case has been exchanged to the Department of Criminal examination, DCI, Yaba, for further examination
